Velverve exists because creators run real businesses and deserve proper support without being made to feel awkward about it.
The business side of being a creator is exactly the same as any other small business: income, expenses, tax, contracts, tools, security. The difference is the way the industry gets treated. Advisers get squirmy. Accountants get embarrassed. IT people get judgemental.
We do none of that. Velverve is currently a pre-launch idea being tested from Sydney by Glen Harman, who has led technology in real businesses for more than 20 years and has a decent record of working out why business systems don’t do what everyone expected. He has a high tolerance for weird questions, a firm belief that all work is work, and an unhealthy love of a tidy chart of accounts.
Velverve is not a trading business yet, and the company that would run it has not been decided. We are finding out whether there is demand first.
